Birth Doula Services
Birth Doula services cater to each families individual needs and goals as they pertain to labor, birth and post postpartum care. As your birth doula you can expect caring, empathetic, and personalized service and support. As your doula, I will spend about an hour to an hour and a half in each prenatal meeting getting to know you and your specific goals, values and desires. In our prenatal visits we will go over your birth preferences and goals, supply you with accurate, unbiased information, help you solve problems, and be there to listen to you! I am certified through DONA International and am able to attend births at Community Medical Center, St. Pats, Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital, The Birth Center, as well as with home birth midwives. I have experience supporting all modes of births. From unmedicated, to medicated, and even caesarean sections I can, and have, supported all modes of birth and honor each woman's individual birthing needs! When you hire me as your doula, you also get my expertise as a Certified Lactation Counselor. I will work with you to help formulate a plan so you can reach your breastfeeding goals! Here is a breakdown of what my Birth Doula package includes:
-
1 free meet and greet consultation to see if I am a right match for you and your partner. This meet and greet can be done at your home or any other location that you are comfortable in (i.e. a park, your favorite coffee shop, a library etc. wherever you feel most comfortable) This appointment lasts between 1- 1 1/2hrs.
-
Upon hiring me as your birth doula, you then receive 2-3 prenatal visits, each lasting 1 to 1 1/2 hrs. each in the comfort of your own home. In these prenatal visits, we will discuss your birth preferences, address concerns or worries, provide information, go over comfort measures for during labor, discuss breastfeeding fundamentals (should you decide to breastfeed), and come up with a postpartum care plan specifically designed for you!
-
When you go into labor (or when your scheduled caesarean section date is upon us) I am with you and your partner for continuous emotional, informational, and physical support until the birth of your baby and the immediate postpartum time. I stay with you postpartum until you and your partner are settled in and ready for me to leave, which is usually around 2-3hrs. post birth. During that immediate postpartum time I can help you with getting breastfeeding off to a great start, answering any questions you may have, and by simply being there as support for whatever needs may arise. I can even be a door keeper for you so that you can get some rest and have some privacy until you are ready to welcome friends and family for visits!
-
Postnatally, I offer you 1 home visit (again lasting 1 to 1 1 /2hrs.) Where I can offer referrals to local resources, assess breastfeeding, go over your birth, answer any questions, and offer non judgmental support.
-
You also get continuous phone, text and e-mail, support for the first 6 weeks after the birth.
-
My birth doula package is: $500 and includes all the above services.
-
I also offer a Virtual Doula Package for $400 which includes all the above services except done through virtual platforms.
